Community Engagement

EWBI Canada’s first order of work has been the creation of a plan to catalyse Development of a Culturally Informed Emotional Well-being Framework which embraces a strength-based perspective of healthy living, guided by culturally informed and holistic healing, including the right to self-determination, the need for cultural understanding, recognition of human rights, recognition of cultural diversity, inclusive society and elimination of racism and stigma.

A cornerstone of the development of this framework is engagement with diverse communities starting from British Columbia’s south coast region. EWBI will engage in targeted consultation with key groups to understand practices and access to programs, activities and physical and natural assets that support emotional well being from a culturally informed perspective. This engagement will also help to inform our understanding of the diverse cultural practices for emotional wellbeing and to share and build understanding on the, connection with community.
